Fort Greene Bar Named Among 'Surprisingly Good' NYC Happy Hour Deals

A neighborhood dive bar with a drinks-and-appetizers discount deal made Eater's list of actually worthwhile happy hour spots.

FORT GREENE, BROOKLYN — A Fort Greene dive bar has among the city's most worthwhile happy hour deals, critics say.

Brooklyn Public House, located near the corner of DeKalb and Vanderbilt avenues, was named among the citywide spots with a "surprisingly good" happy hour deal by Eater editors.

The eatery was named among just 11 spots on the list, updated this week by Eater as office life (somewhat) bounces back — post-work happy hours with it.

Part of what makes the bar's happy hour deal a cut above the rest, editors say, is that the discounts apply to drinks and appetizers.

From 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays beers are about $5 apiece but classic bar fare — including mozzarella sticks, nachos, jalapeno poppers and more — are all half-off, too.

"During the summer, pouring a cold one with a gooey mozz stick in hand makes for an ideal street watching combo in Fort Greene," editors write.
