Man Found Dead On Park Bench

Body discovered at Lowry Triangle near Atlantic Avenue on Sunday morning.

A 48-year-old man was found slumped on a park bench early Sunday dead from an apparent drug overdose, according to police and fire officials.

Passersby called 911 after finding the man at Lowry Triangle, a "pocket" park located at the intersection of Underhill, Washington and Atlantic avenues, at 10:49 a.m., police said.

The man was found with a hypodermic needle in his hand, according to police.

As of Sunday evening, the park was open to the public with two barricades partially blocking access to the bench where the man was discovered.
