Ralph's Bodega Closed by NYPD Due to "Criminal Activity"

Ralph's Bodega on Lafayette Avenue has been shut down by the NYPD — again.
Police from the 88th Precinct closed the bodega on March 14 because "there's been some criminal activity at the location," according to a police officer who spoke at Tuesday's 88th Precinct Community Council meeting.

The store, located at 89 Lafayette Ave., and owner Ralph Jawad, 48, is no stranger to legal troubles. On Oct. 18, 2012, police busted the well-known Fort Greene business owner for allegedly selling marijuana out of the bodega.
He was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, criminial possession of a weapon, criminal possession of marijuana, intent to sell marijuana and unlawful possession of marijuana.

A trial date has not been set.
