The NYPD confirms earlier reports from Bed-Stuy and Clinton Hill neighbors that a shooting interrupted a block party on Saturday evening near Classon Playground.
A 32-year-old male and a 32-year-old female were shot at 7:22 p.m. in the park opposite 345 Classon Avenue, says an NYPD spokesman.

Classon Playground is situated on the border of Bed-Stuy and Clinton Hill, on the same block as a school and an NYPD precinct. A local block party was reportedly underway when the shooting occurred.
Amanda Stosz shot this Instagram video of the crowded block party earlier in the day:
Stosz tells Patch on Twitter that she ducked to safety when she saw an active shooter on the basketball court inside the park.
“There were a lot of children, neighbors and friends and everyone was having a great time until then,” Stosz remembers.
A Twitter user named Megan Corletto says she was “inside an apt on Classon and heard the shots and saw people running from the park.”
Another nearby resident reports on Reddit that “tons of cops” quickly gathered and a helicopter circled overhead.
Two weeks earlier, on Sunday, July 26, police responded to a shooting at 47 Clifton Place — just one block from Classon Playground.
