Summer Movies To Screen In Fort Greene Park: What To Know
A free outdoor movie series in Prospect Park is expanding to Fort Greene Park for four consecutive Thursday evenings this July.

FORT GREENE, BROOKLYN — A popular outdoor movie series in Brooklyn is expanding to Fort Greene this summer.
"Showtime In The Park," a free outdoor movie series usually presented in Prospect Park by the eponymous television network, is bringing the tradition of weekly movies to Fort Greene Park this July. The event will make a return to Prospect Park's Great Lawn in August.
Both event series — aptly dubbed the "Beloved Summer Movie Series" — will feature nostalgic classic films and feel-good favorites, including (in Fort Greene Park) Steven Spielberg's "West Side Story" remake and Spike Lee's iconic "Crooklyn" (more details on the lineup below).

Brooklyn Borough President Atonio Reynoso, who is sponsoring the series alongside the television network, Brooklyn Magazine, and both parks' respective alliances, said he's looking forward to attending the event with his family.
"Supporting free and friendly community gatherings is critically important to me as the Chief-Promoter-of-Brooklyn," he said. "I hope more organizations emulate investing in such events so we can grow the number of activities around the year for families and individuals alike."
