CLINTON HILL, BROOKLYN — Today we thank the wicked cute schoolchildren of Melinda Morel's first-grade special-ed class at the Achievement First Endeavor Elementary School charter at Waverly and Atlantic avenues for gifting the borough — and humanity, really — the world's most uplifting rendition of “Say It, Sing It If The Spirit Leads” by the great New York poet Joshua Bennett.
The Huffington Post's "Black Voices" vertical recently videotaped Kerri, Chance, Isabella, Janiyah, Malcolm and Samir, ages 5 through 10, giving a dramatic reading of the poem in their first-grade classroom.
If this doesn't improve your day, if not your entire outlook on life, might as well just throw in the towel now — you're a lost cause.
And below, for reference: The world's second most uplifting rendition of "Say It," by the author himself.
