2 Firefighters Injured In Blaze At Baldwin Garden Apartments: Police

The fire drew six different agencies including police, the fire marshal, and four fire departments, Nassau police said.

BALDWIN, NY — Two firefighters were injured in a blaze that broke out at the Baldwin Garden Apartments on Friday night, Nassau police said.

A working storage shed fire at the Baldwin Garden Apartments on Grand Avenue was called in to 911 at around 5:45 p.m., and upon arrival, officers with the help of local fire departments, evacuated the building as a precaution, according to police.

No one of the residents were injured, police said.

Altogether, six different agencies responded including the Baldwin, Uniondale, Oceanside, and Long Beach fire departments, which helped in extinguishing the fire, according to police.

Arson Bomb Squad detectives, as well as Nassau's fire marshal also responded, police said.

The two firefighters injured firefighters were taken to a local hospital for treatment, police said.

The building sustained minor exterior damage, police said.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.
