3 Charged With Murder For Freeport Shooting Death: Police

Police arrested a fourth person in connection to the death of 28-year-old James Diamond in September, detectives say.

FREEPORT, NY — Three men were arrested and charged with murder for the death of a Long Beach man in Freeport on Sept. 10.

Corey Grier, 27, of Guy Lombardo Avenue, Freeport; Eric R. Baldwin, 25, of Guy Lombardo Avenue, Freeport; and Todd Brant, 20, of Pinewood Crescent, Middle Island were all arrested by Nassau County police on Wednesday and charged with the murder of James Diamond, 28, of Long Beach.

According to police, Freeport police officers responded to a home on South Bay Avenue at 3:30 p.m. on Sept. 10. They found Diamond with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead by a doctor.

Grier, Baldwin and Brant were all arrested Wednesday in connection with the murder.

Grier and Baldwin are both charged with second-degree murder, first-degree robbery and two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Brant is charged with second-degree murder and first-degree robbery.

They were expected to be arraigned on Thursday.

A fourth person, Anyibel Madera, 23, of Freeport, was charged with fourth-degree conspiracy and fourth-degree criminal facilitation.

She was due to be arraigned on Friday in Hempstead.
