Baldwin Blaze Investigated By Arson Squad: Police
No one was home when the fire broke out just before 6 a.m., Nassau police said.
BALDWIN, NY — A blaze that broke out at a home in Baldwin early Friday morning is being investigated by Nassau police's arson squad, according to a news release from the department.
Officers responded to a 911 call at a Bertha Drive fire at around 5:45 a.m., and saw
flames coming from the southwest corner of the home, police said. The Baldwin and Freeport
Fire departments extinguished the blaze, but the fire caused extensive damage to the home, according to police.
No one was injured, as all of the residents were out of the house at the time of the fire, police said.

Its cause is undetermined and the investigation is ongoing, police said.
Altogether, four agencies, including the county fire marshal's office, responded to the scene.
