Babysitting Workshop, Homecoming This Week
A street fair, Homecoming, a babysitting workshop and more.

Babysitting Workshop: Young Adults in Grades 6-12 may participate in a babysitting workshop being offered Wednesday, Oct. 23, between 3:45 and 5:45 p.m. Participants will learn how to handle emergencies, how to diaper and feed young children. Registrants are asked to bring a baby size doll or stuffed animal to practice diapering, burping and first aid. This workshop is given in two parts. Those who attend both parts will be awarded a certificate of completion by the library. There are 12 spaces available. Call 742-8405 for more info.
Estate Planning & Financial Security Seminar: Join Sen. Kemp Hannon for a free estate planning and financial security seminar on Thursday, Oct. 24, at the Garden City Library from 7 to 9 p.m. Contact Kit Aberman for more info at 739-1700.
Homecoming: Garden City High School's annual Homecoming parade will step off at 1 p.m. on Seventh Street, make its way through the annual street fair to Garden City High School’s Warren King Field where the Trojans will take on South Side at 3 p.m.
Chamber Fall Festival/Street Fair: The Garden City Chamber of Commerce’s 34th annual Fall Festival Street Fair will take place Saturday, Oct. 26, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Seventh Street. Some 70 vendors will offer a variety of craft and gift items; there will also be plenty of activity for the kids, including face painting and the popular money cube.
