Body Found at Hempstead Lake State Park: A body was found floating by a fisherman July 18 at Hempstead Lake State Park. Police later identified the body as a homeless woman who went missing in the same area on Father's Day. According to police, 28-year-old Catherine Brady went missing after last spotted in the North Pond area of the park. The woman had a Garden City address, according to police.

Crime Blotter: Prostitution, Residential Burglary and a Lewd Act: A resident reported seeing a subject described as a male white, 18-20, unshaven, pull up in front of her residence on Chestnut Street July 3 and commit a lewd/obscene act inside his vehicle. The vehicle then left the scene towards Clinton Road.

Susan Lucci, Son Helping Those Less Fortunate: Television star Susan Lucci and her son, Andreas Huber, a reality TV name and golfer, will serve as honorary chairs of the Maureen's Haven annual Lobster Bash fundraiser, to be held Aug. 22 at Dockers Waterside in East Quogue.

Lock Your Doors: Police Warn of Car Break-Ins: The Garden City Police Department has received multiple reports of money and other items stolen from unlocked vehicles parked throughout the village. Vehicle break-ins are on the rise throughout Nassau and Suffolk, police commissioner Kenneth Jackson said, adding that his department is currently investigating the trend with Suffolk police.

Crime Blotter: Phone Scam, Prostitution, Missing Elderly Man Found: During an investigation in Parking Field 2S on July 10, Garden City detectives arrested a female 31-year-old from Hempstead for prostitution and a male 46-year-old from North Merrick for patronizing a prostitute.

Crime Blotter: Missing Teen Found, Bayberry Avenue Burglary: A burglary occurred at a residence on Bayberry Avenue June 25. Three rear doors to the residence were found to be forced open. This report was included in the July 1 police report.
