Bicyclist Killed In Hit-And-Run Crash Identified: Police

Wilfredo Blanco Molina faces charges that include second-degree vehicular manslaughter from the Westbury crash, police said.

WESTBURY, NY — The bicyclist, who was the victim of a deadly crash, has been identified by police.

Robert F. McCarthy, 69, of Hicksville, was killed during the overnight hours on Sunday in Westbury, when a Chrysler Sebring driven by Wilfredo Blanco Molina, 41, of Hicksville, struck his bike, police said.

McCarthy was pronounced dead at the crash site, Old Country Road near State Street, police said.

Molin, who fled the scene, was located a short time later and charged with second-degree vehicular manslaughter, leaving the scene of an incident, criminal possession of a controlled substance and driving while intoxicated, authorities said.
