Man Strikes Car With Wooden Baton In Nassau Road Rage Incident: PD
Matthew Otto faces charges that include assault and criminal mischief, police said.
UNIONDALE, NY — An Uniondale man was taken into custody on Friday afternoon for a road rage incident, police said.
Two motorists got into an argument at the intersection of Greengrove Avenue and Front Street in Uniondale.
Matthew Otto, 72, and the 49-year-old male victim exited their vehicles, police said.

Otto retrieved a wooden baton from his trunk and began swinging it at the victim. Otto also smashed windows on the victim's 2018 Toyota Camry, before striking the victim's arm. police said.
Officers placed Otto into custody without further incident. Both the victim and Otto were transported to local area hospitals for evaluation and treatment.

Otto is charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and second-degree assault, police said. 2 nd Degree. He will be arraigned when medically practical.
