GC Police Beefing Up DWI Enforcement July 4th Weekend
Officers will monitor the village's roadways, targeting intoxicated and drugged drivers.

The Garden City Police Department is participating in a STOP DWI (Driving While Intoxicated) enforcement initiative that will target intoxicated and drugged drivers during the Fourth of July holiday and throughout the weekend.
Numerous other police departments throughout Nassau County are also joining the effort.
"Police officers will monitor the village’s roadways, strictly enforcing all DWI laws," Police Commissioner Kenneth Jackson said. "The Garden City Police Department wishes all residents a safe and happy holiday."
Funds provided by the Nassau County Traffic Safety STOP DWI Program, with a grant from the New York State STOP DWI Coordinators Association and the governor's Traffic Safety Committee, will enhance this initiative, according to Jackson.
