Four Things You May Not Know About in Garden City

A new restaurant, out-of-service playing fields and more promenades?

There's always something going on in the village of Garden City but busy schedules may get in the way of keeping up with all the news. Here are four things you may not yet know about:

Kaji Sushi: Garden City's newest Asian-themed restaurant, Kaji Sushi, is open on Franklin Avenue. Read more here.

Promenades: "Friday Night Promenade," the 10-week summer initiative that came to a close Sept. 5, was intended to help local merchants drum up business during the sluggish dog days of summer. According to trustee Dennis Donnelly, board liaison to Garden City's business community, village officials are holding a meeting with local merchants and the Garden City Police Department to "set plans for next year."

St. Paul's Fields Renovations: A portion of the St. Pau's fields are currently out of service for a major renovation project. Find out more later this morning on Patch.

License Your Dog: October is "License Your Dog in Garden City" Month. Visit Garden City Village Hall during October and your dog will receive a free bone with each new registration. Click here for details.
