Fresh Produce for Seniors
Vouchers available from state Farmers' Market Nutrition Program.

A federally-funded program is making farm fresh food options available to cash-strapped seniors.
Income-eligible seniors can receive a one-time coupon book worth $20 to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables at a local farmers’ market, Nassau County announced.
The coupons, courtesy of the state Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program, will be available at no cost after July 15. Call the Nassau County Office for the Aging at 516-227-8919 for more information.
Participating markets near Garden City include:
- Garden City Farmers’ Market, 101 County Seat Drive, off Old Country Road, behind Supreme Court, Mineola (Tuesdays, 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.)
- New Hyde Park Farmers’ Market, municipal parking lot, across from New Hyde Park Village Hall (Saturdays, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.)
- Rockville Centre Farmers’ Market, Sunrise Highway & intersection of Long Beach Road, RR parking lot #12 (Sundays, 7 a.m. to noon)
