GARDEN CITY, NY — A driver is in critical condition after losing control of his vehicle and striking a tree early Sunday in Garden City, police said.

A 37-year-old male victim, who was driving a 2016 BMW, was traveling westbound on First Street just after 3:30 a.m. He suffered severe trauma and was taken to a local hospital, police said.

The investigation is ongoing.
