Garden City Grad Shea Still Getting Her Kicks
Women's soccer player a freshman as Monroe College tries to defend its national championship.

Garden City High School graduate Kaitlin Shea has continued her soccer success at Monroe College.
Shea, who had been part of the Trojans squad which won the New York State Class A title in 2013, is a freshman at Monroe in New Rochelle. Shea has become a crucial member of a team that next week will defend its national title against some of the nation’s leading junior college soccer programs.
On Sunday, she scored the final goal in a 7-0 win over the Community College of Rhode Island that secured the Monroe women their second consecutive NJCAA district championship. They advanced to the NJCAA Division I national championship, which started in Melbourne, Fla., on Nov. 16.
