GARDEN CITY, NY — Garden City High School has been named to the 2024 Advanced Placement Program School Honor Roll, earning platinum distinction for the second consecutive year.

Garden City High School earned the platinum distinction on all three metrics used for the
designation.

  • College Culture: 91 percent of students in the Class of 2024 took at least one AP exam in their career.
  • College Credit: The percentage of students in the Class of 2024 who scored a 3 or higher on an AP exam in their career was 86 percent, an increase of 6 percent from 2022-2023.
  • College Optimization: The percentage of students in the Class of 2024 who took 5 or more AP exams including one before 11th grade increased to 39 percent.

"This award showcases the culmination of the elite level instruction and development our teachers and staff districtwide provide our students as well as the students’ own talent and dedication," said Garden City Assistant Principal Connor Cohn.
