Garden City Schools Welcome New Teachers, Staff
The district welcomed its newest employees at the annual orientation last week.
GARDEN CITY, NY — As the start of the 2022-23 school year approaches, the Garden City School District welcomed a new athletic director, two assistant principals, 27 teachers and two nurses during the annual New Teacher Orientation, which began on Tuesday, Aug. 23.
The new educators gathered at the Garden City High School library where Superintendent of Schools Dr. Kusum Sinha and Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources and Leadership Development Nanine McLaughlin provided insight into what educators could expect in the upcoming year.
Board of Education trustee Arthur Gnecco addressed the new staff members and welcomed them to the district. Additionally, PTA President Zeynep Vitale and SEPTA President Sivan Chapman were in attendance to show their support. The new hires gathered for the traditional bus photo and had the opportunity to participate in a bus tour of Garden City.

On Aug. 24 and 25, the new staff members participated in various workshops centered on technology, special education, business office procedures, athletics and curriculum development.
