Merillon Avenue Commuter Lot Rehab: Finishing touches are being put on the Merillon Avenue LIRR commuter parking lot rehabilitation project north of the tracks. The work started June 17 and was supposed to be completed July 17. Find out when the project will officially be done later this morning on Garden City Patch.

Hot Dog Day: Did you know Tuesday is Hot Dog Day? According to www.daysoftheyear.com, the day is an "opportunity to raise money for charities whilst combining large quantities of sausages, bread, ketchup, mustard and onions."
