Girl Scouts of Nassau County Announces Forest Hills Resident to Serve on Board of Directors

Girl Scouts of Nassau County announced today that Forest Hills resident Melanie Pavlidis has been nominated to the Girl Scouts of Nassau County Board of Directors through 2026. Melanie Pavlidis was sworn in during the organization’s 59th Annual Meeting, which was held at the Ruth S. Harley University Center on the Adelphi University campus. Girl Scouts of Nassau County’s Board of Directors comprises lifelong Girl Scouts, community leaders, and nonprofit and corporative executives who provide leadership, innovation and constant support to the Girl Scouts of Nassau County council.
“Girl Scouts of Nassau County is proud to have such prestigious and accomplished members on its Board of Directors who inspire and empower our Girl Scouts,” said Randell Bynum, Chief Executive Officer of Girl Scouts of Nassau County. “I am confident that this group of leaders will help cultivate the Girl Scout experience and help fulfill our mission to build girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place.”
Girl Scouts of Nassau County’s board of directors provide strategic leadership and work collaboratively to build courage, confidence, and character in Nassau County girls. They will also help raise vital funds to expand access to Girl Scout experiences that socially, academically and emotionally empower girls throughout our community.

Melanie Pavlidis is a GSNC Adult Volunteer, a Girl Scout Honor Pin recipient, a Gold Award Girl Scout, and a Lifetime Member from the Herrick’s Association. She was the Mistress of Ceremony for 4 Gold Award ceremonies, was the Keynote Speaker at the 2020 Gold Award Ceremony, and served as Head Teller at the GSNC Annual Meeting for 5 years. Melanie was also a member of the GSNC Chorus for 10 years and a Media Girl for 8 years. Melanie is also a member of the American Museum of Natural History Junior Council and the North Shore Land Alliance. Melanie previously worked at The Nassau County Legislature and GSUSA, Girl Scouts’ national headquarters in Manhattan, where she focused on corporate partnerships and fundraising. She currently works on corporate partnerships for Wix, a leading international website platform.
