High School Business & Finance Students Are W!SE (Again!)

Congratulations to business students in Mr. Reid Sclafani's and Dr. Erin McKinstry’s classes at Garden City High School who achieved a “Blue Star” award from W!SE (Working in Support of Education) for Garden City High School for their achievement on the 2012-2013 financial literacy certification test.

Dr. McKinstry and Mr. Sclafani are pictured here with students taking an online practice test for the 2013-2014 financial literacy exam.

“We have been recognized as a ‘Blue Star’ school in school years '10-'11, '11-'12, and '12-'13,” said Mr. Sclafani. “This summer we were recognized as a top 100 school in the nation by W!SE. Dr. McKinstry and I were also designated as ‘Gold Star’ teachers. We are proud of Garden City’s ‘Blue Star’ students and their parents who recognize the importance of business education and the study of finance, on the personal level as well as for a career. They know that more of our students wind up earning college degrees in the area of business than any other major. And that regardless of their career path, the study of finance is a great practical area of study.”
