Honeymooning LI Couple Among Many Under Coronavirus Quarantine

The Garden City residents are contacting news outlets while docked in Japan.

Garden City, NY — At least two Long Islanders are among the quarantined cruise ship passengers currently being held in Japan after coronavirus spread on the Princess Cruises ship. News 12 and CNN interviewed Milena Cerullo and Gaetano Cerulla of Garden City remotely from the Diamond Princess ship where they appealed to President Trump to help them.

"We should be quarantined in a safe and sanitary environment, not a cruise ship that's already affected," Milena Cerullo told News 12.

According to the cruise ship company's website, eight Americans have been tested positive so far for the virus. The passengers will remain under quarantine until Feb. 19. Another cruise ship returning to Bayonne, New Jersey has been under evaluation by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, according to CNN.
