GARDEN CITY, NY — The Garden City Police Department reported the following incidents for the week ending Dec. 7.

Dec. 1

  • Garden City detectives arrested a 42-year-old man for tying a dog to a pole in Meadow Street field and abandoning it without providing food or water. The incident occurred on Nov. 21. He was charged with abandonment of an animal.
  • Graffiti was found on two statues on the grounds of St. Joseph’s Church.
  • A Brooklyn company was charged with the operation of a truck on Clinton Road while 22,000 pounds overweight.
  • Officers investigated a report of a vehicle leaving the scene after colliding into another vehicle on Washington Avenue.
  • A person reports her jewelry was either lost or stolen in the vicinity of 7th Street.

  • A driver on Clinton Road and Chestnut Street was charged with improper license plates, unregistered vehicle, and transporting a 2-year-old child without a car seat.

Dec. 6
