Man Robbed 3 Nassau Banks In A Few Days: Police

Police say they arrested a serial bank robber, who robbed three different banks across the county this month.

NASSAU COUNTY, NY — A Hempstead man was arrested on Tuesday for robbing three banks across Nassau County, police say.

According to police, Loreto Ferri, 49, robbed three banks in a span of a few days earlier this month.

Police say he robbed a Roslyn Savings Bank in Merrick on Feb. 9, a Citi Bank in Mineola on Feb. 12, and People's United Bank in Garden City on Feb. 14.

In all three cases, police say Ferri handed the teller a note demanding money, then fled with cash.

Ferri is charged with first-degree robbery and two counts of second-degree robbery. He is scheduled to be arraigned later today in First District Court in Hempstead.
