Man Shot Dead Early Saturday In Nassau: Police

HEMPSTEAD, NY — An investigation is underway regarding a homicide that took place early Saturday in Hempstead, police said.

According to Nassau County police, officers responded to Yale Street for reports of a male shot at 1:03 a.m. Upon arrival, Officers encountered a 39-year-old male in a vehicle with a gunshot wound, police said.

The man was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced by a staff physician; the investigation is ongoing, police said.
