Man Struck, Killed By Car In Nassau Overnight: Police

HEMPSTEAD, NY — A man was struck and killed by a vehicle early Saturday in Hempstead, police said.

The 66-year-old pedestrian was attempting to cross North Franklin Avenue at 2 a.m. when he was hit by a 2024 Hyundai, driven by a 48-year-old man, authorities said.

The victim was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The operator of the vehicle remained at the scene.

Police are investigating.
