Manganos' Prison Sentences Delayed Yet Again
The couple still remains free on bail while appealing their 2019 convictions.
NASSAU COUNTY, NY — Edward and Linda Mangano, who were convicted three years ago of charges related to Edward accepting bribes in his role as Nassau County executive, were set to begin their prison sentences this week. Instead, the start of their incarceration has been delayed yet again.
Mangano, 60, was convicted in 2019 of a string of charges related to accepting bribes in his position as Nassau County executive. His wife Linda, 59, was found guilty about lying to the FBI about a no-show job she had. Mangano was sentenced to 12 years in prison, and Linda received a sentence of 15 months.
Both were supposed to start their prison sentences on Aug. 27. But both have been delayed.

Linda Mangano is now slated to start her prison sentence on Sept. 7, according to Newsday. When Mangano's sentence will begin is less certain.
In July, federal judge Joan Azrack denied Mangano's request to remain free on bail while he appeals his conviction. However, the Second Circuit court released an order saying Mangano can remain free while the court rules on a motion to overturn Azrack's order, according to Newsday.
