GARDEN CITY, NY — The Garden City Police Department reported the following incidents for the week ending Aug. 2.
July 26
- A driver on Hampton Road was charged with driving with a suspended license and driving on the wrong side of the road.

- A 21-year-old man was arrested on Franklin Avenue for assaulting and choking an ex-girlfriend. He was charged with assault and criminal obstruction of breathing.
- A victim’s identity was stolen and used to open an unauthorized debit card account.
- A victim’s identity was stolen and used to open an unauthorized insurance policy.
- A victim’s identity was stolen and used to open an unauthorized mobile banking account.
- Firefighters and police responded to a residence for a carbon monoxide alarm. Firefighters determined the alarm was malfunctioning.
July 28
- A driver on Franklin Avenue was charged with driving with a suspended registration and unregistered vehicle.

Aug. 1
- Officers investigated reports of graffiti at a Stewart Avenue construction site.
- Police investigated a complaint of a person’s identity being used to open a fraudulent bank account.
- A business reports two fraudulent checks totaling $9,700 were cashed against the company’s bank account.
- A truck driver on Clinton Road was charged with out of class operation and improperly secured load.
- A driver on Franklin Avenue was charged with driving with a suspended license and defective brake lights.
Aug. 2
- A person was seen on surveillance cameras checking car door handles in an 11th Street driveway.
- A person’s identity was reportedly used to open an unauthorized bank account.
- A driver on Clinton Road and Meadow Street was charged with driving with a suspended license, a suspended registration, and defective brake lights.
- A motorcyclist on Stewart Avenue was charged with driving with a suspended license and not wearing a helmet.
