Nassau Judge Killed In LIE Motorcycle Crash: Suffolk Police
Justice Dawn Jimenez-Salta was a passenger when the motorcycle collided with a car near Exit 68 on Sunday, police said.

GARDEN CITY, NY — A Nassau County judge was killed in a motorcycle accident Sunday afternoon on the Long Island Expressway, Suffolk police reported.
Justice Dawn Jimenez-Salta was riding on the back of a 2007 Harley-Davidson when it collided with a car near Exit 68, just before 5:30 p.m., police said.
Jimenez-Salta, who was born and raised in Brooklyn, started her judicial career in 1999 on the Kings County Housing Court. She also was on the bench as a justice on the Kings County Supreme Court, Trellis.com said.

"The Nassau County District Attorney's Office is deeply saddened by the tragic passing of Nassau County Supreme Court Justice Dawn Jimenez," a spokesperson for the D.A.'s office said. "Justice Jimenez was a dedicated public servant who upheld the values of fairness and justice throughout her career, spanning from New York City to Long Island. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time."
Jimenez-Salta, 60, of Garden City, was taken a Suffolk County where she was pronounced dead. The 65-year-old male driver was hospitalized with serious injuries, police said.
