Nassau Man On Bicycle Killed In Collision With Car
Police say the bicyclist was hit by a car and killed while crossing a street in Hempstead Wednesday evening.
HEMPSTEAD, NY — A Hempstead man was hit by a car and killed while riding his bicycle in the village Wednesday evening, Nassau County police said.
According to police, 50-year-old Alfredo Hernandez was riding his bicycle and crossing Cathedral Avenue when he was hit by a car. Police say the driver immediately stopped and called 911.
Hernandez was taken to a nearby hospital and was pronounced dead by a doctor soon after he arrived.
