Nassau Man Faces Murder Charge After 4 Shot In June: Police
Police say four people were shot, and one killed, in a gathering in Hempstead in June.

HEMPSTEAD, NY — Nassau County police have arrested a man they say is responsible for a June killing in Hempstead.
According to police, at 10:10 p.m. on June 4, officers responded to 77 Terrace Ave. and found four people had been shot. Jaden Omaree Johnson, 19, of Hempstead, was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died of his wounds less than an hour later.
A 23-year-old Hempstead man was shot in the ankle, a 35-year-old Westbury man was shot in the leg, and a 31-year-old Hempstead man was shot in the thigh. They were all taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

On Tuesday, police say they arrested Laron Watts, 22, of Uniondale, in connection with the shooting. He has been charged with second-degree murder, and is scheduled to be arraigned later today in First District Court in Hempstead.
