Nassau Police ID Man Shot To Death On Street

Police are still investigating the 49-year-old man's murder. Anyone with information is asked to come forward.

HEMPSTEAD, NY — Nassau County police have identified a man who was shot to death in Hempstead earlier this week.

According to police, Hempstead police officers answered a call for shots fired near the intersection of Peninsula Boulevard and Sewell Street at 10:55 p.m. on Jan. 30. When they arrived, they found 49-year-old Santos Valeriano Argueta, of Hempstead, lying on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds.

Argueta was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was soon pronounced dead by doctors.

Police ask anyone with information about this murder to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
