WESTBURY, NY — Swifties are invited to a party for "1989," the latest Taylor Swift album getting a re-release.

NYCB Theatre at Westbury is welcoming fans 18 and older to the special event on Oct. 27, coinciding with the dropping of "Taylor's Version." It also marks the ninth anniversary of the original launch.

"We're building a new audience and we're introducing the next generation into Westbury," Niki Friedwald, Venue Production Assistant, told Patch.

She said the theater, previously known as the Westbury Music Fair, diplomatically referred to those who play the venue as "seasoned artists."

It's the first release party for the theater and Friedwald said it was all her doing.

"Swifties typically do these album release parties in their rooms, they'll record it and put it on TikTok," she said. "So I thought why not bring everybody together and give them a brand new experience."

Part of that experience is having a DJ spinning each of the 22 tracks, which include chart-toppers "Bad Blood," "Blank Space," and "Shake It Off," and taking requests for other Swift favorites.

They can accommodate 1,200 fans in the theater's proscenium, but due to logistics, plans weren't confirmed until last week.

Not to worry, though, as anything that touches Swift these days seems to be an immediate hit, whether that's her love life with the Kansas City Chiefs's Travis Kelce, causing monster TV ratings when she's in the stands. Her newly released concert film, "The Eras Tour," opened with nearly $100 million, Variety reported.

"Who doesn't love Taylor Swift? We figured given all the hype right now it's worth a shot," Friedwald said.

The event, scheduled from 8 p.m. to midnight, also features themed cocktails and mocktails based on the album. Swifties can get a memento of the evening with photo opportunities in the lobby.

The world of Taylor Swift doesn't end there, as you can enjoy lip-syncing battles and a costume contest.

Live Nation has tickets for the event. General admission is $34.25, but if you're having the "Wildest Dreams" about Swift, there are two VIP packages: $52.50 and $81 "to spice up the experience," Friedwald said.

"People will be able to dance around in the theater, for sure," she said.

Athough Friedwald enjoys Swift's music, she doesn't consider herself a Swiftie.

"I really just enjoy giving people a good experience, especially at the venue, so it's a nice combination," she said.
