The summer program offers numerous activities which help students find their niche.

Not sure how your kids can fill the last week of July with learning and fun? Well, look no further. The Summer Enrichment Program at Stratford School is where the fun is!
This program has been running for more than 40 years and accommodates kids in pre-k up to 11th grade, five mornings a week.
This summer program offers numerous activities which help students find their niche. They keep the kids engaged and enjoying themselves. Classes include woodworking, arts and crafts, cooking, robotics, and, for high school students, college application essay writing, just to name a few.
In these classes, kids get the chance to really learn and explore their interests, while getting to know themselves a bit better. They also get the chance to be with their friends and interact in a social environment. This program would not be what it is today without the help and support from the teachers and faculty, especially teacher/administrators Ms. McCavera and Mr. Papa, as well as the volunteers.
As a volunteer for the past five years, I have learned the importance of responsibility and what it’s like to act as a role model. We all work together to ensure the kids have the best experience possible. Approximately 40 teachers dedicate their time to Summer Enrichment, which makes a huge difference in the success of the camp. Many kids love to come to Stratford just to see their past teachers. For example, Juliette explained that the best part of the program was, “Seeing Ms. McCavera, my 2nd grade teacher.”
Over the years, parents in the community have made suggestions for programs they would like to see added to the roster. Last year, robotics was added as a result of parent input. For people who love science and building things, robotics seems to fit! Overall, the point is that new course offerings are part of what makes the program exciting!
If you’d like to sign your child up while the fun lasts, contact Ms. McCavera or Mr. Papa at 478-1540 or summerenrichment@gcufsd.net.
