Police ID Woman Who Died After 2 Vehicle Strikes In Garden City Park
The 74-year-old New Hyde Park woman had been crossing the street at Marcus Avenue on Dec. 12, Nassau police said.
GARDEN CITY, NY — Nassau police have identified the woman who was struck twice by vehicles in Garden City Park, in one of two fatal crashes within hours of each other on Dec. 12.
Maria Gigliotti, 75, of New Hyde Park, was crossing Marcus Avenue at Pubins Lane when a 2020 Jeep Wrangler, driven by a 26-year-old woman, slammed into her, and then she was struck by a 2008 Honda Civic, driven by a 23-year-old man, just after 6 p.m., police said.
She was pronounced dead by the Garden City Fire Department.

Both drivers remained at the scene.

About at hour and twenty minutes later, a second woman was killed in a hit-and-run crash in North Lawrence.
