Stratford School Welcomes New Assistant Principal

Christopher Uccellini comes from Copiague Public Schools, where he served as an elementary education teacher since 2008.

Christopher Uccellini has been appointed the new assistant principal at Stratford School, the Garden City school district has announced.

Uccellini comes from Copiague Public Schools, where he served as an elementary education teacher since 2008. He holds a B.A. in history from Post University, CT, an M.S. in early childhood education/childhood education from Dowling College and a professional diploma in educational leadership from Stony Brook University.

“I am very happy to become a part of the Garden City tradition,” Uccellini said. “I look forward to working with the students, staff and community in the future.”

While in Copiague, Uccellini additionally served as a coordinator for the mentor program for at-risk students, the peer mentoring program and the literacy committee, according to a district press release, and holds initial New York State certification in school building leadership and professional certification in childhood education (grades 1-6) and early education (birth to grade 2).

Uccellini attended the Oct. 16 Board of Education meeting, where superintendent of schools welcomed him to the district.
