Sunday Hours Restored at the Library
Garden City Library will be open between 1-5 p.m. on Sundays Oct. 20 through May 18.
Effective Oct. 20 the Garden City Public Library will once again be open on Sundays.
The library's board of trustees unanimously voted to restore the hours, 1-5 p.m. Oct. 20 through May 18, at its Sept. 9 meeting.
Restoration was made possible after the village board reallocated $32,158.49 of unexpended 2012-13 State Retirement System funds for the 2013-14 fiscal year budget.
The village board also rescinded action taken in June which abolished two full-time maintenance positions and established two 4/10th maintenance positions.
