Teen Cyclist Struck by Car Dies

The 15-year-old victim was struck Saturday night in Hempstead, police said.

A 15-year-old from Hempstead died Monday after he was struck by a car while riding his bike Saturday night, according to Nassau County Police.

Ka’Juan Polley was riding his bike south on Cameron Avenue at 8:48 p.m. in Hempstead when he was struck, police said.

The driver, who had been heading west on Front Street at the time of the collision, stayed with Polley until emergency responders arrived, cops said.

Polley was rushed to Cohen Children’s Medical Center at North Shore-LIJ but succumbed to his injuries on Monday, officials said.

The driver was issued a summons for being an unlicensed operator while the car was impounded for brake and safety checks, cops said
