Teenager Attempts To Bring Loaded Gun Into Uniondale High School: Police

The weapon was found by school security, police say.

UNIONDALE, NY — A teenager was arrested after carrying a loaded weapon into Uniondale High School on Wednesday, police said.

The 17-year-old male was found by school security with a loaded black handgun as he attempted to enter the school, police said.

Officers responded and placed him under arrest without incident, authorities said.

He is charged with criminal possession of a firearm, criminal possession of a weapon on school grounds, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, police said.

He is scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday at the Youth Division of First District Court.
