Teresa McClean Belts Out The Classics

Despite the sweltering heat, residents flocked to the Village Green Thursday to enjoy the music of Teresa McClean from Emil Stucchio and the Classics.

McClean engaged the audience with stories about her family and belted classics like Dusty Springfield's "You Don't Have to Say You Love Me" and Ruth Brown's "I'll Be Satisfied."

Teresa has performed at Town Hall in Manhattan, Foxwoods and The IZOD Center in New Jersey to name a few. She's also appeared on television shows and can be heard as the voice of characters in children's shows and in radio and television commercials, according to her website.

The Department of Recreation and Parks' 2013 summer concert series continues July 25 with the music of Stan Zizka and the Original Del Satins. All shows begin at 7:15 p.m.

Residents are encouraged to bring their own chairs and blankets. In the case of inclement weather, all shows will take place indoors at the Cultural & Performing Arts Center at Cluett Hall. Due to space limitations at the hall, proof of Garden City residency will be required.
