Who Will Be Crowned This Year's Chicken Wing Champ?

The fifth annual Wing-Off competition at Friday's Belmont Festival kicks off at 6 p.m.

As hundreds flock to Seventh Street Friday for the village's 16th annual Belmont Festival, restaurants will put their best wings forward as they compete for the coveted title in the fifth annual Wing-Off competition.

The competition starts at 6 p.m. sharp. Attendees can participate in the tasting and judging with a donation of $5. Proceeds of this contest will directly benefit the Long Island Red Cross for their recovery efforts in the wake of superstorm Sandy.

This year's competitors are:

  • Prost Grill & Garten of Garden City
  • Rein @ The GC Hotel
  • Even Flow Bar & Grill of Bayshore
  • Wing Plus of Port Washington
  • Hurricane Grill & Wings of Garden City
Last year, seven restaurants competed: Rein; Walk Street; J.P. McGeever's; Lani’s Marketplace; Pop’s Wings; Famous Dave’s and Murphy’s Bar and Grill. J.P. McGeever's was crowned winner of the best buffalo wings in town, becoming the first two-time wing-off champion (the restaurant also won in 2010).
