Woman, 95, Dies In Apartment Fire Attempting To Put Out Flames: Police
The Rockville Centre fire was considered not suspicious, but the investigation is ongoing, police say.

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY —A 95-year-old woman died in Rockville Centre an apartment fire on Thursday morning, police said.
Just after 7 a.m., the kitchen area of the apartment on 274 North Central Avenue was engulfed in flames and black smoke, police said.
The victim, who attempted to extinguish the fire, was found with severe burns to her torso and limbs, police said. She was transported to an area hospital, where she died Thursday afternoon, authorities said.
