Woman Stabbed Nassau Man To Death: Police

Police say the Hudson Valley woman murdered the man, who died two weeks after suffering chest wounds.

HEMPSTEAD, NY — A Hudson Valley woman was arrested last week and charged in the November murder of a Hempstead man.

According to police, officers responded to an apartment complex on Fulton Avenue at 6:45 p.m. on Nov. 25 for a report of a man who had been stabbed in the chest. They found 35-year-old Richard Reshard and transported him to a hospital. He died from his wounds on Dec. 7.

On Dec. 9, detectives arrested Veronica Hardwick, 51, of Poughkeepsie, for the murder, police said.

Hardwick has been charged with second-degree murder. She was arraigned on Dec. 9 at First District Court in Hempstead, and is being held in prison.
