Glen Cove Rotary Presents Operation Initiative Benefit Movie Screening

  District 7250 and the Glen Cove Rotary Club presents the First Annual Operation Initiative Benefit, celebrating the United States Military with a memorable reception starting at 6:00 p.m. open to all attendees, door prizes, and a private screening of the award winning film, Flag of My Father, at the Tribeca Cinema in New York City on February 10, 2012 at 7pm and

 Flag of My Father, winner of the GI Film Festival, is a poignant and realistic portrayal of the suffering that Veterans experience as the result of Post Traumatic Stress (PTS). GiGi Erneta (a Glen Cove Rotarian) portrays an Army nurse whose Vietnam Veteran father (William Devane) had instilled in her the importance of personal sacrifice. After returning from Iraq, she still battles with Post Traumatic Stress and her four older half brothers including Daniel (John Schneider). 100% of the net proceeds from the screening and fundraiser will go towards the distribution of the Operation Initiative Handbook, which has been designed and organized to aid and assist United States Uniformed Military, and their families, to reenter our communities and deal with PTS.
