A Holly Jolly Time at the Annual Holiday Festival

The most wonderful time of the year happens at the Glen Cove Downtown Business Improvement District’s annual Holiday Festival.

Downtown Glen Cove’s Village Square was transformed into a holly jolly scene on Saturday December 6. A stage was set up for performances throughout the event by local schools and groups.

While live performances fill the square with music and beautiful dances, kids could enjoy festive activities like decorating cookies and stockings, writing letters to Santa, taking family photos with Santa, choo-choo train rides, and horse and carriage rides. All the elves who joined the event could warm up with hot cocoa at one of the hot cocoa stations around Downtown, and with coffee donated by Starbucks and Ready Coffee. People were even able to get some holiday shopping done at the Holiday Marketplace by Deep Roots Farmers Market. The night ended with a flourish when the City took over to light the Christmas Tree.

A mix of musical and dance exhibitions spanned the entire event with performances by the Glen Cove High School Jazz Band, students from the Glen Cove High School Select Chorale, Jazz Hands Children’s Theatre, North Shore Village Theatre, St. Dominic Dance Company, St. Dominic Choir, Glen Cove High School Kickline, Let’s Make Music and Dance, Glen Cove High School Orchestra, Finley Middle School Chorus, and La Voz De Dios.
