April Hydrant Flushing to Begin
Fluctuations in water pressure, discoloration of tap water may occur.

The Glen Cove Water Department will be opening fire hydrants around the city in the coming days to flush out dead-end water mains, the City announced.
Flushing is necessary to clear dissolved mineral sediments that have accumulated in the watermains before the peak usage period of spring and summer.
Water pressure fluctuation and water discoloration may be detected by residents, the City warned, though it said the discoloration poses no health risk.
