We all need to be taken care of sometimes. Some of us need round-the-clock care, others need care only occasionally. However, even when the need is rare, the care provided is essential – often lifesaving.

Who provides care? We all do. We are ALL caregivers. While some of us are “formal” caregivers – paid to provide caregiving services, some are “informal” or unpaid caregivers, and some are both.
Today’s society faces many challenges that make our universal roles as caregivers more important than ever – widespread mental health concerns, high medical costs, pervasive opioid abuse, high prevalence of dementia, and increasing social isolation across the lifespan.

This summit is for formal and informal caregivers, providers, researchers, policymakers and young people currently engaged in half the caregiving work done in the U.S. Panels will focus on caregiver stories, strategies and resources, healthcare provider and leadership perspectives, research trends and program innovations, and legislative wins and new policy directions.
