Glen Cove Is One Of Most Expensive Places To Rent: See Ranking

A recent study by Apartment Guide found that Glen Cove, and other Long Island communities, are among the most expensive in the country.

GLEN COVE, NY — A recent study found that Glen Cove is one of the most expensive places for renters to live in the country, with monthly rents that would make people in other parts of the country gasp.

Apartment Guide just released its list of the 50 most expensive places to rent in the U.S., and Glen Cove snagged the 22nd spot. Many other Long Island communities were also on the list.

For a one-bedroom unit, Glen Cove had an average rent of $3,386.

All of the most expensive places were located on the coasts, which isn't much of a surprise. Most were in the New York and Los Angeles metropolitan areas, as well as Miami Beach and Fort Lauderdale in Florida.

The most expensive place to rent in the country is Culver City, California, which has an average rent of $5,207. New York City came in second with a rent of $4,510.

27. Huntington Station: $3,272

28. Rockville Centre: $3,244

37. Smithtown: $3,124

Apartment Guide said that it calculated the list by creating a rolling weighted average of rent from its own sources and from Rent.com. The data is current as of August 2021. Apartment Guide said that the formula used reduced the influence of seasonality on rent prices.
